A doable potion that anyone can attempt is a flower honey. I used to be able to source adorable little jars of French honey in which the bees were placed in fields of lavender creating a stunning lavender product. Though my diy product will not have the same depth as what the French honey bees achieve, it is attainable to all of us.
Choose your potion:
Flowers for love
I can write an entire page of the many attributes of love; romantic love, brotherly (or sisterly) love, or love of self. When you are creating your own love potion recognize what is lacking in your house and be mindful during the process of creating your floral honey.
My favorite edible flowers:
Lavender
Elderflower
Rose
Calendula
Kitchen Herbs for healing
Sage
Thyme
Rosemary
Or any combination that your household needs at the moment. Thyme is my absolute go-to for dry coughs and throat conditions, maybe with a pinch of sage.
Surprise yourself with your own power to be healed and to heal. Understand that your daily habits affect your long term health and a little bit of herbal honey may be an essential ingredient to your continued or future health.
What you need:
Honey
Dried or fresh flowers or herbs
Non-reactive pot, I use enameled steel
Sieve
Non-reactive crock or glass jar
Process
Throw your ingredients in the pot with your honey.
Proportions are up to you, experiment! Roughly ⅓ cup fresh ingredients or 2-3 TB dried for every 14 oz of honey, herbs are much more pungent than flowers.
Heat gently, try not to boil.
Cover with a lid and let sit for 1 hour - 1 day -or to desired strength.
Heat again, just enough to be pourable, avoid boiling.
Pour through sieve into your pre-heated, sterile storage container, be careful that the honey isn’t too hot to avoid cracking your container.
Note if you accidentally boil your potion it will taste fine. Some of the medicinal qualities of your honey-honey will be boiled away though.
